In April 2015, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture, Fish Farming (MAGAP in Spanish acronym) granted Esquel the implementation of the consultancy for the provision of technical support to twenty pieces of land transferred by the Land Access Unified Project aiming at improving the efficiency and efficacy levels in their productive and socio-organizational management.
In the framework of this process, Esquel works in coordination with 24 organizations in charge of land management, comprising 21 associations, 2 cooperatives, and 1 corporation. These pieces of land are located in 8 provinces of Ecuador: 10 in 3 Highland provinces, 9 in 4 Coast provinces, and 1 in the Amazon Region.
This intervention focuses on five scopes of action: legal, socio-organizational, agro-productive, commercial, and financial.
The successful implementation of productive and business plans for the twenty pieces of land so far has managed to increase the crop area and the commercialization of products.
